The HDS EXHYC 4200 is a heavy-duty hydraulic excavator cutterhead and mixer manufactured by HDS Belgium (Hydraulic Dredging Systems). Operating Modes

The EXHYC 4200 is designed for three operating modes depending on soil conditions. At 50 RPM it delivers maximum torque (4200 Nm)(3,100 lb-ft) for cutting through compact sand and hard soil (SPT N-Value up to 55). At 75 RPM it is optimised for clay dredging, breaking up cohesive material before it enters the pump. At 100 RPM it operates as a high-speed mixer, fluidising heavy mud with low water content to allow it to be pumped efficiently by the attached HDS dredge pump.

Compatibility with HDS Dredge Pumps

The EXHYC 4200 is designed to mount directly onto HDS submersible dredge pumps via the threaded fixations on the pump casing. Compatible models include the HDS 110, HDS 125, HDS 125L, HDS 160M, and HDS 160. When combined with an HDS pump, it forms a complete excavator-mounted dredging system capable of cutting, mixing, and pumping hard soils, clay, gravel, and heavy mud in a single integrated unit.These solutions are currently in operation on multiple ROHR-IDRECO suction dredgers.

Designed for tough conditions, it restores optimal dredging efficiency and ensures maximum performance where waterjetting systems fall short, it forms a complete excavator-mounted dredging system capable of cutting, mixing, and pumping hard soils, clay, gravel, and heavy mud.

Suitable for compact soil cutting, clay and hard ground dredging, mud fluidisation and mixing, harbor and port sediment removal, construction excavation below water, environmental remediation, and mining operations requiring mechanical cutting assistance. Particularly effective in conditions where the soil is too dense or cohesive for direct suction pumping alone.
