HDS 125L Submersible Dredging Pump - Complete Technical Specifications

The HDS 125L is a professional-grade submersible dredging pump manufactured by HDS Belgium (Hydraulic Dredging Systems). This heavy-duty pump delivers 78 kilowatts (106 horsepower) with a 200 millimeter (8 inch) discharge size, capable of pumping 500 to 550 cubic meters per hour (2,200–2,420 gallons per minute) with a head range of 16 to 22 meters (52–72 feet). The "L" designation indicates a larger impeller width (80mm vs 70mm on the HDS 125), optimized for maximum flow volume at the same power output.

Superior wear resistance with 27% high-chrome casting impeller and wear plates hardened to 62 Rockwell C (HRC). Double seal cartridge protection in oil bath. Continuous duty rating at low speeds. Impeller width 80mm (3.15 in) with 60mm (2.4 in) diameter strainer. Tempered stainless steel shaft AISI T-431 DIN 1-4057, superior to 39NiCrMo3 for seawater applications. Excavator mounting pads for fast integration with dredging equipment.

HDS 125L vs HDS 125 Comparison

The HDS 125L shares the same 78 KW (106 HP) power output and hydraulic motor as the HDS 125, but features a wider 80mm impeller (vs 70mm) and 8-inch only discharge, delivering significantly higher flow: 550 m³/h vs 450 m³/h. The trade-off is a lower maximum head of 22m vs 28m. The 125L is the preferred choice when maximum volume throughput is the priority over pumping distance or elevation.

Mounting and Integration

Threaded fixations on both sides of pump casing for jetting ring or dredging cutter heads. Threaded fixations on motor housing for all types of lifting frames, rotating shafts, and horizontal or vertical ladder arms. Compatible with excavator cutter heads and mounting pads. Pump can be dismantled without removing excavator cutter heads.

Applications

Suitable for high-volume mining operations, sand and gravel extraction (up to 4mm grain size), large-scale dredging projects, harbor maintenance, construction excavation, and environmental remediation. Designed for severe conditions including heavy mud, clay, silt, and abrasive materials. Pumps coarse sand through PE-pipes (150, 200, 250mm diameter) up to 500 meters distance.

​⚠️Important Informations before choosing the right dredging pump :
​- Pumps designed for 1450 RPM - Thus higher speed results to higher wear of the wear plates, impeller, casing and agitator.
- Higher RPM results in higher capacity and head.
- To avoid higher wear when pumping abrasive sand RPM should be limited to recomended speed of 1150~1200 RPM.
- Silt and mud may be pumped at higher RPM, because it is less abrasive.​

​- Our performance curves are based on practical duty points for pumping coarse sand up to 4 mm grain size, providing reliable and realistic expectations in the field.
- Pumping sand through PE-pipes diameter 150, 200, 250mm. Distance up to max. 500 meters.
- There are similar dredging pumps from other manufacturer capable to pump dust of 0,1mm over a distance of 3000 meter.
- Note : Every water pump can pump dust of 0,1mm over a distance of 3000 meter.

  • Threaded fixations on both side of the pump casing allowing fixation of jetting ring or dredging cutter heads-excavators for hard soil and clay or mixing to fluidify heavy mud with low water content.

  • Shaft tempered stainless AISI T-431 DIN 1-4057 - Better than 39NiCrMo3 For Sea Water Application​.
  • The shaft sleeve is made of Diamix and features both Nitrile and Teflon seals.
  • Our wear plates and impellers are made of white cast iron with 27% chromium content and a hardness of 62 HRC. EN-GX260Cr27 provides exceptional wear resistance under extreme abrasion conditions in dredging, slurry pump applications, and mining. It outperforms EN-GJN-HV600 (XCr18), offering extended service life and reduced maintenance requirements.
