The HDS 160 is a professional-grade submersible dredging pump manufactured by HDS Belgium (Hydraulic Dredging Systems). This heavy-duty low-speed pump delivers 103 kilowatts (140 horsepower) with a 250 millimeter (10 inch) discharge — the largest discharge in the HDS pump range. It is capable of pumping 600 to 780 cubic meters per hour (2,640–3,433 gallons per minute) with a head range of 16 to 22 meters (52–72 feet). The HDS 160 is designed specifically for maximum volume throughput at low speeds, minimizing wear on abrasive materials.

Superior wear resistance with 27% high-chrome casting impeller and wear plates hardened to 62 Rockwell C (HRC). Double seal cartridge protection in oil bath. Continuous duty rating at low speeds. Wider impeller (80mm) and larger strainer (70mm) than the 160M model, optimized for maximum flow through the 10-inch discharge. Tempered stainless steel shaft AISI T-431 DIN 1-4057, superior to 39NiCrMo3 for seawater applications. Hydraulic connections via 1 1/4 inch flange at 6000 PSI for pressure and return, and 3/4 inch BSP drain line. Excavator mounting pads for fast integration with dredging equipment.

The HDS 160 is the largest pump in the HDS Belgium range, featuring the widest discharge (250mm / 10 inch) and highest flow capacity (780 m³/h). Compared to the HDS 160M which uses the same 163.9cc motor but an 8-inch discharge, the HDS 160 trades head (22m vs 37m) for dramatically higher flow volume (780 m³/h vs 450 m³/h). Compared to the 125 series (124.8cc motor, 6-8 inch), the HDS 160 delivers nearly double the flow at lower speeds. The HDS 160 is the optimal choice when maximum volume throughput is the priority in large-scale dredging or mining operations.
Mounting and Integration
Threaded fixations on both sides of pump casing for jetting ring or dredging cutter heads. Threaded fixations on motor housing for all types of lifting frames, rotating shafts, and horizontal or vertical ladder arms. Compatible with excavator cutter heads and mounting pads. Pump can be dismantled without removing excavator cutter heads.

Ideal for large-scale high-volume mining operations, sand and gravel extraction (up to 4mm grain size), major dredging projects, harbor and port maintenance, construction excavation, and environmental remediation. Designed for severe conditions including heavy mud, clay, silt, and abrasive materials at maximum throughput. Pumps coarse sand through PE-pipes (150, 200, 250mm diameter) up to 500 meters distance.

⚠️Important Informations before choosing the right dredging pump :
- Pumps designed for 1450 RPM - Thus higher speed results to higher wear of the wear plates, impeller, casing and agitator.
- Higher RPM results in higher capacity and head.
- To avoid higher wear when pumping abrasive sand RPM should be limited to recomended speed of 1150~1200 RPM.
- Silt and mud may be pumped at higher RPM, because it is less abrasive.
- Our performance curves are based on practical duty points for pumping coarse sand up to 4 mm grain size, providing reliable and realistic expectations in the field.
- Pumping sand through PE-pipes diameter 150, 200, 250mm. Distance up to max. 500 meters.
- There are similar dredging pumps from other manufacturer capable to pump dust of 0,1mm over a distance of 3000 meter.
- Note : Every water pump can pump dust of 0,1mm over a distance of 3000 meter.
